The Agreement has been approved!
YPPG and its lawyers have appeared Jan 21st 2025 before Justice Steele, of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Along with a YP lawyer, we pleaded our COLA ( Indexing) case settlement. The same day, the Judge has blessed the agreement we struck with YP, bringing an end to the COLA issue dating back to 1998 and 2017. All YP retirees will benefit from this settlement and THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO, THEIR PENSIONS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CORRECTED, AND THEY WILL RECEIVE AN ADJUSTMENT.
If any retirees do not agree with this settlement, they will have a 30-day period to opt out, if they wish, and to negotiate a correction to their pension, on different bases. (Please remember that YPPG spent over $100,000 to resolve this matter). After this period, the payment process will begin. Also note that if any heirs/executors also wish to benefit from the settlement, the deadline to do so is March 31, 2025, by contacting info@yppg-gppj.com
